Puako is a unique ocean front community unlike any other place in Hawaii.
It is considered the sunniest spot in the state and averages less than 10”
of rain annually. Puako is located on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island and
is only a 30 minute drive from the Kona International Airport .
The Puako coast is a protected Marine Sanctuary marked by its' pristine water and reef, making it a unique area to swim, dive, and snorkel with sea turtles and other amazing ocean life.
The slow pace and lack of traffic makes this shoreline excellent for hikes, leisurely walks, morning jogs, or a scenic bike ride. This area has a rich prehistoric past marked by its' famous petroglyph fields and old Hawaiian fishing village. This area is tranquil and private with sunny balmy days and clear starry nights.
